The 5-7th of November SEMA students and teachers participated at the JCI World Congress 2019 “Pure Magic” Digital Innovation Days Hackathon event. After the first pitching session and recruitment of new team members, 3 SEMA related teams had been formed: newHorizons, Superable, CREW.
During the few days of hackathon teams improved their pitched ideas: created logo designs, prototypes of their websites, platforms and etc. Also, during the hackathon, Prof. Katri-Liis Reimann presented a challenge on behalf of Tallinn university – how to capture the diverse global experiences of our international students and their impact. Validata team suggested how to solve this challenge and won a special prize from TLU. We all gained great experience and got valuable advice from mentors for our projects further development. Our program follows the project-based learning method, so we strongly believe that participation in these events is really important because it helps to develop students‘ entrepreneurial, team management and presentation skills.
