26th of February SEMA’s lecturer Jakub Dostál and Anita Kéri – an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Szeged (Hungary) led the research seminar – “The economic potential of international students volunteering”.
Jakub Dostál and Anita Kéri presented their research which focused on the economic potential of international students’ volunteering work. The research aim was to investigate Erasmus students’ economic potential in case of doing any voluntary work throughout their stay in a foreign country. The studies used a quantitative methodology. Students’ economic potential was estimated by hypothetical situations of volunteering a lower and higher amount of volunteer hours per stay. Research results indicated the importance of international students’ volunteer activity. After the presentation, the research seminar’s participants actively discussed volunteering and international students’ role in local economies.
